Growing In Unity - Day 5 -- Frowning - January 13, 2017

Hello everyone!. I'm back. I truly wish I was just starting my Growing In Unity Week instead of ending it. I always hate to look forward to doing something for awhile only to have the time go by so fast.

I hope that you have enjoyed all that I have created and that I have inspired you in some way. Remember that we all create beautiful projects with Unity Stamps. Whether its a card, canvas or even wrapping paper...its all unique with Unity Stamps. I truly believe that if a few of us got together and had the same kit and supplies that we would create all completely different projects.  To me there is nothing more special to receive then something homemade. Receiving something homemade is usually made directly from the heart. Its a sorta of extension of yourself. Never be afraid to express yourself.

One of my favorite artists here at Unity Stamp Company is Lisa Arana. Lisa has some awesome stamps and I totally love her owls. Today I thought I would showcase some of them.

To start off my owl cards I wanted to start with "Lil Bloomin' Owl".
This owl makes me smile as it reminds me of being in South Dakota with Paul for vacation (aka Sturgis 75th) and while on the motorcycle saw field after field of sunflowers.
I thought it was very cool to see that when the sun was out all the sunflowers in fact turned toward the light.

I used a floral embossing folder for the base of my card.
I stamped the "Lil Bloomin' Owl" and the sentiment with black ink.
The image was then colored in with Prismacolor Pencils.
To finish the card I used red card stock to mat the Lil Bloomin' Owl
since he had a red heart on him.

=============================

Up next I am going to use "Love You This Much" Owl
also by Lisa Arana.

For this card I started with a red card stock.
I grabbed one of my embossing folders with hearts on it and
embossed the red card stock.
I stamped both the owl and sentiment in black ink and
colored in with my colored pencils.
Matted the image and sentiment onto black paper to finish.

===========================

For my third card today I used "My Kinda Favorite Owl".
To start I used a gray card stock that I embossed with polka dots.
I stamped image with black ink and colored in.
I chose to use the polka dot embossing folder because of the
ladybug on top of the owls head (smiling).

=========================

For my next card I used "Going To Be Owl-Right".
For this card I used brown card stock that I embossed with my wood grain embossing folder.
I stamped image and sentiment with black ink.
Colored it in with pencils and finished by matting in black.

==============================
Here is something I created using "Bountiful Owl" which was
September 2016 Sentiments Kit from Unity.

For this owl I made a tag. I decided to use a cloud technique I had seen on one of Unity Stamp Company's video for background.
I hand drew a tree and colored it to resemble bark.
I used some leaf punches I had and punched out in various colors and tried to make it look like a tree in Fall.
For the Bountiful Owl I decided to stamp onto card stock and color in with colored pencils. For a little bit of fun I took some of the leftover leaves I had and glued together to form a mask.
I love how this tag turned out.

===========================

For my next card I used "Owl I Want".
I stamped image and sentiment with black ink,
and colored in with Prismacolor Pencils.
I decided to add some red distress ink around the edge of the white card stock to bring out the red I used on the image.
Matted with black card stock and used green card stock for base.

======================

This card I dug out of my "Unity Archive" lol.
This was a card I made shortly after I found Unity, and
was made for a sketch challenge.
For this card I used "Owl Bundle Up".
This card is far from perfect...my stamping I think
has gotten better (smiling).
I stamped the sentiments onto white with black ink.
Matted all with dark blue card stock, and used some
blue and white bakers twine for a little added color.

==================================

Remember to post a comment on each day of my blog for a chance to win one of two grab bags of 25 sentiments from
Unity Stamp Company.

:::::::Deep sigh:::::::
If you got the idea I was stalling for closing this day...
you would be guessing correct.
I really have enjoyed sharing my Unity Stamp Company
creations with you all week.
I really hate for it to end....

Please remember to always take time to create, and stamp.

I want to thank Angela Magnuson for creating
Unity Stamp Company, and for all the amazing talented
artists at Unity who create incredible images for all of the
red rubber stamps.

Because of Unity, I have found something that makes me smile and feel good about myself doing. I have created gifts for others to enjoy, and created cards that are one of a kind.
Unity Stamps are multi-purpose stamps to me.
I love that the images and sentiments are all individual so you are
able to put one image from one kit with a sentiment from another.
Also because of Unity I am blessed to have some amazing
stamping friends who inspire me, and we are able to help each other with opinions and encouragement.

Remember if you have missed a day of my blog you have a chance to go back and look at what I created and leave a comment
for a chance to win one of two Unity Stamp Company
grab bags with 25 stamps.

Thank you for taking time out of your days to read my blog
and leave me comments that truly have touched my heart, made me smile, laugh, and even tears to eyes.
I truly hope you have enjoyed my blogs, maybe found a new favorite stamp you just "have to get" because of something you saw me create during the week.
You have over the weekend to leave comments on all of the
blogs - I will pick and announce my two winners Monday.

As always - Have A Great Friday....and Have A Happy Weekend!.

Keep stamping.....with Unique stamps from Unity Stamps!.

Growing In Unity - Day Four - Thursday

Hello All!. Welcome back to my Growing In Unity Blog - Day four. Wow this week is going way too fast (frowning)....but....(smiling) never fear Aimee is here to inspire you with the amazing stamps from Unity Stamp Company.

Unity Stamp Company does all orders "cooked to order". All of the orders are done as they come in and are made just for you to enjoy.

Well for todays blog I decided to highlight two topics....men and pets....lol....no similarities I promise (smiling).  Finding stamp sets for men can be hard at time. Well not with this kit from Unity.

For my first project I decided to use "For The Guys" by Lisa Arana. I love this kit because you can mix and match the three images with the sentiments contained in the kit to create a one of a kind card.

My three cards I stamped images & sentiments in various colors of ink. Afterwards I matted, and placed onto card bases that matched the ink used on the images.

Whether you need a birthday card, or thinking of you this stamp kit is great for it!. The images are awesome.

For the second half of today's post I decided to highlight for those who are pet lovers. I used for the base a paw print embossing folder that I had. I stamped the paw stamp onto white card stock, colored in the hearts red and matted them with black. I also matted the sentiments on each of the cards.  Both of these stamp sets were created by Lisa Arana.

I really hope you liked all the cards I created. Remember to leave a comment on my blogs all week (one a day) for a chance to be one of two winners chosen to win a Unity Grab Bag of 25 stamps.

Here are links to the stamps I used today - tell them in notes/comments - You saw this in Aimee's Blog....smiling.

Growing In Unity - Day Three - January 11, 2017

Hello All and Happy Hump Day!!. Today marks my third day as Girl In Unity (GIU for short). Can't believe half of the week is already over - (frowning).  Since I am a Girl In Unity I decided to highlight some of the stamps created by Angie Blom.

For my cards today I used all Itty Bitty stamp sets
from Unity.

For my first a2 card that I made today I used a medium blue card stock and did a top fold card instead of a side. I decided to give it texture by the use of an embossing folder I had purchased recently. The center was cut out and then image was stamped in black ink and colored with Prismacolor Pencils. I added the sentiment onto an oval I cut out and used black ribbon.

To hide the white paper on the back as well as the ribbon I used on the front I took another piece of blue card stock and adhered it over the entire back side for a more finished look.

For the second card I made I used "Faceless Beauty" also by Angie Blom. She is also another Itty Bitty stamp set.
For this card I used red cardstock that I embossed with embossing folder.  Stamped image and sentiment on white card stock that I matted with black.

Final card for today is "Not Be Perfect" by Angie Blom.
She is also an Itty Bitty Stamp.
I stamped her on white card stock and colored in with Primacolor Pencils. I matted the stamp and sentiment with black cardstock and used light blue card stock which I embossed with a folder for a bit of decoration around the edge.

Okay....okay.....I fibbed lol. That was not final card for today.
Bonus time!!. 3 more coming up.

For my final three cards I chose to make them all themed
for friends. These are three of my favorites.
"A Friend Like You" was a previous Stamp of the Week.
"Always Lifts You Up" is a great stamp also for a quick card.
And finally "Completely Insane".
All three of these are Angie Blom stamp sets.

I truly hope you liked my creations for today!.
Come back daily for a chance to win a bag of 25 random stamps from Unity!.
P.S. Remember to add a note on your order that you saw this stamp because of my blog (smiling).

Growing In Unity - Tuesday - January 10, 2017

Hello All!!. Welcome to Day Two of my five days as
the Growing in Unity Girl . I am so happy for this chance to showcase some of the amazing stamps and stamp sets created by
Unity Stamp Company located in Minnesota.

In honor of Valentines Day being about a month away I thought I would take today and show you a few stamp sets that can be used for cards pertaining to Love.

For my first card I chose to use "My Person" by Angie Blom and Joslyn Nielson. I think this fox is sooo adorable!.
I used an embossing folder and used around edge of card.
I stamped the image with black ink and the sentiment in red.
I colored in with Prismacolor Pencils and then matted with black paper. Fun card to make!.

For my second card I used Wild About You (Giraffe) By
Joslyn Nielson.  I stamped the giraffe onto white card stock and colored in with Prismacolor pencils. For the background I used a light blue card stock and embossed it with some clouds.
To finish the card I matted with black card stock and placed on red card stock base. Used the sentiment right on clouds.

For my third card I used "Puppy Ruff" by Tracy Malnofski.
All three of these stamp sets are Itty Bittys.
I used a red card stock for the base of card. I embossed a piece of green for the tree, and placed a light blue behind for background/sky. I proceeded to stamp the dog directly onto it and colored with pencils once again. Its a cute dog with heart.

And my last card for today was one I did at the last minute.
I decided to do "I Tolerate You" by Lisa Arana.
For this card I stepped a little outside my comfort zone.
When I used to scrapbook regularly (before stamping) I used to love to paper piece. Paper Piecing is sort of like coloring except each part is a different color of paper - start from the back and work forward.  I think it came out cute.
Stamped main image and sentiment in black onto white card stock.  Then I stamped onto the other colors I needed and pieced it together til I had a finished image.
It was fun to create!!.

Before closing for today I wanted to include links to the stamps I chose to use for todays Girl In Unity.
Please remember to leave me a comment every day this week for a chance to win a grab bag of 25 stamps.

Growing In Unity - Day One - Monday - January 9, 2017

Hello!. Welcome to my Blog!.
Please pull up a chair and grab a cup of coffee.
My name is Aimee and I reside outside of Cleveland, Ohio.
This year marks a milestone in my life.
September 20th I turn 50!. Yipes!!. Where did it go??.
I have other friends also making it to this milestone so I thought I would take today to showcase some of the
"Over The Hill" Stamp Sets that Unity carries.

For my first card I chose to use "Sucks To Get Old" by
Joslyn Nielson. I had fun making this card.
Used red for card base, and then added turquiose.
Stamped images and sentiment in black ...colored and voila!.

For my second card I chose to use
"Old Bag" by Joslyn Nielson.
I stamped the image onto kraft paper to start.
Stamped the sentiment onto white paper and matted it with black. To finish the card I placed it all onto gray cardstock.
Fun to make and fairly fast too!.

For my final card I used "Damn You're Old" by
Joslyn Nielson. All three of these are itty bittys.
Stamped image and sentiment with black ink onto
white cardstock. I used a yellow highlighter to emphasis
the glowing from the candles (looks like how mine will be) lol.
Colored the candles in various colors and the cake base.

To finish out my first day I thought I would be creative.
There have been many times when I found myself short of wrapping paper or not having enough to wrap a gift.
Well..... Unity to the rescue!!!. If I only had my cape (lol).
I used plain brown paper and stamped various images and sentiments all over the paper.  Fun to do when you can make to match the stamped card made with Unity Stamps.

I hope you enjoyed my first day, and that I can inspire you.
